I was reminded of the story "Birth" by A.J. Cronin in some places while reading this one. Both the stories had doctors as its protagonists who tried their utmost to save the lives of nearly dead folks. In the movie "Birth," Dr. Andrew used all of his abilities and effort to rescue the life of a stillborn child. While attempting to save the infant's life, he was covered in sweat. In ‘The Enemy,’ Dr. Sadao saved the life of a prisoner of war who was an American and a possible threat to his country. He went against the political rules and discharged his responsibilities as a doctor.
