Question 8. Answer any four of the following question in 30-40 words each:<br> (ii) Why did William Douglas choose the Y.M.C.A. pool when he decided to learn to swim?
Hard

Solution

William Douglas chose the Y.M.C.A. pool when he decided to learn to swim because it was a safe and ideal place for swimming. It was only two or three feet deep at the shallow end; and while it was nine feet at the other, the drop was gradual whereas the Yakima river was dangerous and many people had drowned in it earlier.
