Medium

Solution

All organisms require energy for their life processes. Abiotic components such as soil, air, water, and sunlight are used by plants to prepare their food and obtain nutrients.
Animals, on the other hand, require food from either plants or other animals in order to gain nutrients; as a result, animals must consume food in order to obtain nutrients and energy.
