Hard

Solution

Flowering plants have reproductive organs called flowers in hich the process of fertilization takes place. The process of fertilization is a unique property of angiosperms. Number of pollen grains formed in the anther of a stamen are deposited on the sticky stigma of the carpel. Pollen grains germinate and form pollen tubes that can be seen growing through the style and reaching the ovules. Pollen tube enters the ovule through a microscopic opening known as micropyle. The tip of the pollen tube dissolves to release the two male gametes or sperms inside the embryo sac. One of the sperm or male gamete fuses with the egg nucleus inside the embrysac. The zygote formed after fertilization develops into an embryo within the ovule. The ovule gradually develops into a seed.
