How do we detect the smell of an agarbatti (incense stick) ?

Solution

The smell of incense stick will mixed with air, as we inhale the gases moved down the respiratory track. We have olfactory receptors in our nose. These receptors detect the smell of agarbatti. This information in the form of nerve impulse is transmitted to olfactory lobes of fore brain. The message is interpreted there.
