Tooth enamel is the hardest in our body. Name the compound of which it is made up of. At what pH of the mouth it gets corroded? State the role of bacteria present in mouth? Suggest a method to prevent tooth decay.

Tooth enamal is made up of calcium phosphate, Ca3(PO4)2. pH below 5.5 will cause tooth decay. Bacteria converts sugar into acid in our mouth. Toothpastes are basic, will neutralise acid produced in mouth and prevent tooth decay.
